Taft’s Columbus Office Adds Public Finance Partner Christopher Connelly

Taft is pleased to announce that Christopher L. Connelly has joined its Columbus and Delaware offices as a partner in the firm’s Public Finance and Real Estate groups.

Connelly focuses his practice on all areas of state, local and federal economic development incentives and all aspects of public finance, including the issuance of bonds and conduit financing by public bodies. He has counseled developers, private businesses and governmental entities seeking to utilize public financing sources in connection with development and revitalization. Connelly has participated in transactions involving the issuance of well over $500 million in public debt for governmental and private borrower clients.

“Chris’s expertise is a perfect complement to our development teams in Columbus and Delaware and part of our plan to build a team to support this growing practice for Taft,” said Columbus Partner-in-Charge David Butler. “His detail-oriented approach and trusted experience in public finance and economic development will bring top-notch services to our regional development and governmental clients.”

With experience as a certified public accountant, Connelly has handled a broad range of state and local tax matters. He has appeared before local boards of revision and the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals on real property valuation matters.

“I’m excited to join Taft and be part of a great development team of lawyers that provides broad resources and legal talent to better serve my public and private sector clients,” said Connelly.

Connelly earned his B.S. in accounting from The Ohio State University and his J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law. Connelly is a board member for Gladden Community House and is the incoming chair of the Ohio State Bar Association Taxation Committee.
