Taft Signs Office Space Lease in Premier Washington, DC Location

Taft signed a long-term lease agreement for approximately 15,000 square feet of new Class A office space located at 200 Massachusetts Avenue N.W., Washington, DC.

Taft’s space design will establish a modern, state-of-the-art work environment with 28 offices, collaborative work areas, and an event hospitality space. Located on Capitol Hill, the building is home to DC’s largest glass-enclosed entertainment rooftop.

The anticipated completion date is Q1 2022. During the interim period, temporary space on the building’s fourth floor will house DC-based Taft attorneys and lobbyists, providing the necessary office and meeting space to deliver impactful client service and attract top talent.

In February 2021, Taft announced 11 attorneys, lobbyists, and support professionals joined the firm en masse to launch Taft’s Public Affairs Strategies Group (PASG), which was followed by integrating the existing Taft government affairs attorneys and lobbyists into the group. Five additional attorneys and/or lobbyists have joined Taft’s PASG since February’s announcement as the result of an ongoing aggressive recruiting strategy. Since 2017, Taft has grown from approximately 400 attorneys to 625 today.

Taft’s federal practice involves developing impactful strategies and advocating for its clients before the U.S. Congress, the White House, and executive branch agencies. The firm continues to be strategic in its growth to expand its public affairs advisory work in the government contracting area, housing and urban development matters, as well as the energy, transportation, homeland security and cybersecurity, IT and data privacy, and health care industries.

Lacy M. Johnson, a preeminent senior lawyer, serves as the Partner-in-Charge of Taft’s Washington, DC office.
