Taft continues to move up in the ranks on the National Law Journal (NLJ) 500—an annual survey that ranks the largest 500 firms in the United States. This year, Taft is ranked 102 on the list based on 2019 data provided by the firm to NLJ. Taft’s inclusion on the NLJ 500 is a reflection of its strong recruiting and retention efforts and expansive presence in the Midwest.

Initially debuting on the NLJ 500 in 2017 at 110, Taft was ranked at 103 in 2019 and 108 in 2018. The firm was also highlighted in the 2017 article, “4 Law Firms to Note on the NLJ 500” for being a “super high-quality Midwestern firm” and having a decentralized management style, with no office labeled as the firm’s headquarters.
