Taft Acts as Legal Counsel to City of Westfield in P3 with Grand Park Sports & Entertainment
Taft is pleased to have acted as legal counsel to the City of Westfield in a public-private partnership (P3) with Grand Park Sports & Entertainment (Grand Park).
After a year of negotiations, the City of Westfield agreed to a 30-year, $184 million P3 with Grand Park to operate and further develop Westfield’s 400-acre Grand Park Sports Campus. The Westfield City Council voted unanimously on Dec. 9, 2024, to approve the 91-page agreement that sets the terms for Grand Park to take responsibility for the 10-year-old sports campus. Taft partner Cam Starnes was the architect of the public-private agreement and advised the City throughout the process. Starnes is a member of Taft’s Municipal and Public Finance practice groups and focuses his practice on representing municipal and private clients in navigating redevelopment projects and public-private partnerships.
