Taft Acted as Legal Counsel to ProTrade in ESOP Sale
Taft’s ESOP team is pleased to have acted as legal counsel to ProTrade in its sale to the ProTrade Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
The company was founded as ProTrade Steel in 1994 by Jack Kessick, Jr., and operated as a scrap metal trading business that later expanded into a fully integrated scrap metal company. Based in Fairlawn, Ohio, ProTrade has trading offices in Ohio, Virginia, New Hampshire, and Texas and has two processing yards in West Virginia. ProTrade buys and sells nonferrous and ferrous metal scrap, offers a full-service transportation business, and has a growing number of processing facilities for recycling.
Taft’s legal team was led by Matthew Secrist and included Eugene Roytberg and Evan Deig.
