Seramount Recognizes Taft as One of the "Best Law Firms for Women"
Taft has been named one of the 2021 Best Law Firms for Women by Seramount (formerly Working Mother Media). The list recognizes law firms that utilize best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting, and developing women lawyers.
Taft is one of only 50 law firms to earn a spot on this prestigious list. This is the second consecutive year Taft has been featured.
“Being named to the ‘Best Law Firms for Women’ list again is a great honor for Taft, and shows our firm is committed to ensuring that women have the opportunity to thrive and pursue leadership roles here,” said Sonya Jindal Tork, Cincinnati partner and co-chair of Taft’s Gender Advancement Committee.
Taft’s one-class partnership structure and Gender Advancement Committee initiatives have resulted in significant increases of women in leadership roles at the firm. Today, women partners comprise 50% of Taft’s executive committee, 50% of Taft’s compensation committee, and 25% of Taft’s practice group chairs or co-chairs.
“We are proud of the work we’ve done to build and sustain an inclusive workforce, and we will continue our ongoing efforts to ensure that Taft is a supportive and forward-thinking employer of choice in each of our markets,” said Tracy Betz, Indianapolis partner and co-chair of Taft’s Gender Advancement Committee.
Seramount’s 2021 Best Law Firms for Women application includes more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women. This year, in light of COVID-19, several questions were added about the success of working from home for lawyers. The full “Best Law Firms for Women” list is available here.
