Poulakidas to Serve as Panelist for NIRPC Regional Economic Diversification Summit
Kostas A. Poulakidas, Taft Public Finance and Economic Development practice group co-chair, will serve as a panelist at the Regional Economic Diversification Summit on May 1, sponsored by the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC). The daylong event will be held at the NIRPC offices at 6100 Southport Road in Portage, Ind.
Poulakidas will join four industry professionals for the “Spotlight on Commercial and Industrial Redevelopment” discussion from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm.
NIRPC is a regional council of local governments serving the citizens of Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties in Northwest Indiana. It provides a forum that enables the citizens of Northwest Indiana to address regional issues relating to transportation, the environment and community and economic development.
Poulakidas provides economic development and public finance representation to government entities, real estate development firms, commercial banks, manufacturers and nonprofit organizations. He focuses on public/municipal finance, economic development incentives and strategies, tax increment financing (TIF), venture capital, EB5 financing, tax benefits related to Qualified Opportunity Zones, forming Qualified Opportunity Zone Funds for private equity investment, private-public partnerships (P3s) and project finance.
