Newsome to Moderate Panel at Cleveland International Film Festival
Allison Smith Newsome will moderate a panel discussion on April 6 with the filmmakers of the short film “Silent Partner” as part of the Cleveland International Film Festival. In the film, a black attorney at a white-shoe law firm questions the legitimacy of his recent promotion after winning a controversial case. Northeast Ohio native Roderick Lawrence is the film’s creator, producer, and lead actor.

Newsome focuses her practice on the representation of hospitals, physician groups, and other health care organizations regarding the regulatory, transactional, and business aspects of health care law. She is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Board of Directors and is also an adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, teaching Advanced Transactional Legal Writing. Newsome is a director on the board of the Greater Cleveland Film Commission.
