Meister and Tarvin Contribute to Statewide Advanced Probate and Estate Planning Seminar

Taft partners Julia B. Meister and Julia E. Tarvin are contributing to the education of lawyers across Ohio at the Marvin R. Pliskin Advanced Probate and Estate Planning Seminar. Hosted by the Ohio State Bar Association on Sept. 11, the live, interactive webinar will focus on the “new world” of estate planning, including the effect that the 2019 SECURE Act will have on retirement planning, and the possible lasting outcome COVID-19 has had or will have on the probate, estate, and trust law practice.

Tarvin will present “Update on Recent Ohio Statutes and Case Law.” Her hour-long presentation will cover notable estate, trust, and fiduciary law cases in Ohio over the past year, as well as recent legislative changes affecting estates and trusts.

Meister is a member of the seminar’s planning committee, which she previously has chaired. She has spoken numerous times at previous seminars.

The webinar qualifies for 6.5 hours for estate planning, trust, and probate law certification hours. For more information, or to register, visit here

Meister is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Probate, and Trust Section Council and its Litigation Section. She leads the firm’s Wealth Transfer Litigation practice and is an elected Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Tarvin focuses her practice on estate planning, and probate and trust administration, advising clients on lifetime gifts and transfers at death, and resulting tax issues.
