Leader Serves on Panel at Real Estate Law Institute 2017

Edward J. Leader, partner in Taft’s Real Estate practice in Cleveland, was an invited panelist at the 39th Annual Real Estate Law Institute 2017 sponsored by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. Leader’s panel was entitled “Navigating Borrowers Through the Looking-Glass of CMBS Financing.” The day-long seminar was held at the CMBA Conference Center on Nov. 9-10, 2017. Commercial mortgage-backed security (CMBS) financing is a type of commercial real estate loan that is secured by a first-position mortgage on a commercial property. These loans are packaged and sold by Conduit Lenders, commercial banks, investment banks, or syndicates of banks.

Leader counsels clients in all aspects of the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, leasing, construction and exchanging of commercial, industrial, and multi-family real estate. He also serves as a business advisor to clients in structuring real estate and other investment transactions.
