Four Associate Attorneys Join Taft Chicago

Taft welcomes associate attorneys Michael Mayerck, Yeoeun Claire Yoon, Benjamin Morrell, and Carly Chocron to the Chicago office in the Litigation and Employment practice areas.

Mayerck is a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation group assisting clients in general business and complex commercial litigation. He earned his J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law and was a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Amy J. St. Eve, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

As an associate in Taft’s Commercial Litigation practice, Yoon represents clients in a range of complex matters. She earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law, where she was the Managing Notes Editor for the University of Illinois Law Review. During law school, Yoon worked as a legal extern at the Illinois Appellate Court for the Honorable Mary L. Mikva, First District.

Morrell is an associate in Taft’s Employment and Labor Relations group. His practice is dedicated to advising and defending employers in a wide variety of litigation matters at the trial-court level and on appeal. Morrell earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Richard A. Griffin of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and to the Honorable J. Daniel Breen and S. Thomas Anderson of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. 

Chocron represents clients in a range of complex criminal and civil matters. She has experience representing individuals and companies in various state and federal litigation matters ranging from fraud, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, conversion, and negligence. Chocron earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and served as a 711 law clerk at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, Criminal Felony Division.
