Taft partner J. Timothy Eaton will be honored by the Illinois Bar Foundation as the recipient of the Distinguished Award for Excellence. Each year, the award is presented to an individual whose career and personal life exemplify their ongoing commitment to the law and legal community. Eaton will be recognized at the Illinois Bar Foundation’s 2022 Gala on Friday, May 20.

Eaton is a senior litigation partner in Taft’s Chicago office, concentrating his practice on appeals, commercial litigation, and arbitration. An active member of local and national bar associations, he is a past president of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the Appellate Lawyers Association of Illinois. Eaton was named Chicago Lawyer magazine’s 2020 Person of the Year for his many contributions to the Chicago legal community.
