Cook, Fry, Fulmer, Hayden, and Kline to Speak at 2026 Ohio Tax Conference
Taft attorneys Justin Cook, Rich Fry, Nate Fulmer, Jeremy Hayden, and Javan Kline will speak at the 2026 Ohio Tax Conference hosted by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce on Aug. 13-14.
On Aug. 13, Kline will join Workshop B, “Income Tax Update,” while Fulmer and Hayden will participate in Workshop C, “Multistate Tax Sourcing: Trends, Challenges, and What’s Next.” Additionally, Cook will contribute to Workshop A “Energy and Manufacturing Tax Credits.”
On Aug. 14, Fry will take part in the “Regional Tax Update” session as well as Workshop D “CAT Update.”

Cook specializes in matters of state and federal taxation. He represents clients on state and local tax (SALT) issues across various industry sectors. His SALT practice is concentrated around sales and use tax, commercial activity tax, kilowatt-hour tax, public utility tangible personal property tax, the Qualified Energy Project tax abatement program, and various excise taxes. At the federal level, Cook represents sponsors, tax credit equity investors, and tax insurance underwriters on energy projects including solar, battery energy storage systems, and biogas.
Fry focuses his practice on solving complex state and local tax problems for businesses and individuals. He guides clients through multistate sales and use tax, commercial activity tax, and personal income tax compliance and controversies, including high-stakes disputes before the Ohio Supreme Court, the Ohio Board of Tax Appeals, and the Internal Revenue Service.
Fulmer is a business and tax attorney who focuses his practice on tax controversy and planning. He counsels both for-profit and nonprofit organizations across a broad spectrum of general business and tax matters, helping them navigate the tax implications of their business strategies to achieve their goals in tax-efficient manners.
Hayden chairs Taft’s State and Local Tax practice and advises clients on complex state and local tax matters, tax controversy, mergers and acquisitions, and estate and succession planning. He was named the 2026 Best Lawyers® “Lawyer of the Year” in Cincinnati for Litigation and Controversy – Tax.
Kline specializes in federal, state, and local tax matters, including income, corporate, partnership, S Corporation, and tax-exempt issues, as well as tax considerations in business formations, restructurings, and transactions.
