Taft Partner Tyler M. Cobb was quoted in a Sept. 17 news release from the Office of Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs announcing the launch of the state’s new State Affordability Infrastructure District (SAID) program. The program, created through H.B. 2999, provides a new financing mechanism that allows tax-exempt bonds to be used to fund public infrastructure and support housing and economic development projects.

“The SAID framework is an investment in Arizona’s long-term growth and affordability,” Cobb said in the release. “By reducing the cost of financing critical infrastructure, it can accelerate housing production, unlock economic-development projects and help ensure that Arizona remains a place where families and businesses can afford to grow.”

Cobb assists developers, property owners, and other stakeholders in the formation and implementation of SAIDs and advises clients on public finance and infrastructure matters.
