Taft Chicago Real Estate partner Liz Butler will speak at the American Planning Association Illinois (APA-IL) State Conference on Sept. 29. The APA-IL State Conference highlights the leading professionals in Illinois urban planning. Butler will be a co-presenter for the presentation “Seeing Green: Proactive Planning and Zoning for Cannabis Businesses to Promote Equitable Economic Development,” which will cover key factors for streamlining regulatory processes to increase equitable economic development and emphasize the benefits.

Butler focuses her practice in the areas of land use, zoning, entitlements, urban planning, public incentives, historic preservation, and economic development, as well as general real estate transactions. She has negotiated and enacted economic development and historic preservation incentives, performed general property evaluations and zoning due diligence, and structured and closed numerous real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Butler is a member of the American Planning Association and a certified member of the American Institute of Certified Planners.
