Butler Quoted in Law360 Article on Importance of Local Counsel

Taft partner David Butler was quoted in the Law360 article “‘One of the Family’: Why Trial Attys Love Their Local Counsel,” published on April 8. The article discusses why it’s important to lean on well-connected local counsel when preparing for trial. Butler noted that he sees his job as being a “known quantity” in the Southern District of Ohio.

“In trials, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes that needs to be communicated with chambers. You need to work with the court staff and the law clerks. You need to work with the magistrates on certain discovery issues,” Butler said. “It helps when you have one of the family members, so to speak, that’s down there helping.”
