Brown Quoted in Franchise Times Article

Taft partner Josh Brown was quoted in the article “State Securities Division Accuses I Heart Mac & Cheese of Misleading Indiana Franchises,” which was published on April 12 in the Franchise Times. The article details the alleged complaint made by the Indiana Securities Division that the franchise misrepresented its startup and operational costs, labor requirements and other aspects of the business in violation of the Indiana Franchise Act. They claim that the Mac and Cheese Franchise Operations sold a “lossmaking business model” to Indiana investors. Brown, who represents two of the Indiana investors, stated that his clients are “hardworking people who put retirement funds and everything they had into this system.” He also noted that the action filed is “very uncommon” and that it “speaks to the seriousness of the situation.”
