Appellate Attorneys Contribute Chapter to IICLE Publication

Taft Chicago partners J. Timothy Eaton and Jonathan Amarilio contributed the chapter “Preparing for the Appeal in the Trial Court: Preserving Issues for Review” for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education publication Business and Commercial Litigation 2019 Edition. The annual handbook is a guide through each stage of a business or commercial case.

Eaton is a senior litigation partner in Taft’s Chicago office, concentrating his practice on appeals, commercial litigation and arbitration. He is a former law clerk for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and is active in local and national bar associations. Eaton is a past president of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and the Appellate Lawyers Association of Illinois.

Amarilio is a member of Taft’s Litigation practice. He focuses his practice on civil appellate litigation and deploying critical motions. He has experience representing individuals, small businesses, state and local governments and a number of Fortune 500 companies before state and federal appellate courts, primarily the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
