Ohio Court Appeals & Mandamus Actions

When the Ohio Industrial Commission makes a final determination on a workers’ compensation issue/claim, the employer or claimant may appeal that decision to Court.

Issues pertaining to the right to participate in workers’ compensation benefits are appealed to the court of common pleas.  Alternatively, further judicial review of administrative decisions that deal with extent of disability issues may seek issuance of a Writ of Mandamus in the Franklin County Court of Appeals.

As counsel for employers, Taft workers’ compensation attorneys have successfully defended both types of cases in an aggressive and cost-effective manner.  Taft attorneys have significant litigation experience representing employers in common pleas courts, appellate courts and the Supreme Court of Ohio.
