On July 3, 2026, Taft was proud to sponsor the 19th Annual Richard Linn American Inn of Court Black Tie Scholarship Dinner, “A Night at the Linnies,” in Chicago.

Partner Marcus Harris, a member of the Inn’s Executive Committee since 2024, served as event chair for this year’s celebration, which honored scholarship recipients—IP professionals and law students who exemplify the Inn’s core values of ethics, civility, and professionalism.

The Linn Inn is one of twenty-two American Inns of Court in the United States and in Japan that concentrates on intellectual property. The Inn is a distinguished organization that focuses on building collegiality and improving the practice of intellectual property law.

Harris has extensive experience drafting and negotiating enterprise software-related licenses, implementation agreements, and SaaS agreements, as well as litigating failed software implementations in courts and before arbitration panels across the country. He represents government entities, distributors, and manufacturers in recovering damages arising from failed Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementations.
