Taft/Sherman & Howard Deepens Litigation Bench in Denver with the Addition of Experienced Trial Lawyer

Trial attorney Kristen Frost joined Taft’s (formerly Sherman & Howard) Litigation group in Denver.

Focusing on white collar, criminal antitrust, and criminal defense matters, Frost has represented clients during all aspects of litigation, from pre-trial representation during the investigation phase, after indictment, at trial, during post-conviction proceedings, and on appeal. Additionally, she handles civil litigation for individuals and businesses in complex disputes.

“In my practice, I often meet clients at some of the most difficult and uncertain moments of their lives,” said Frost. “Their liberty, reputation, and livelihood are on the line, and I fight as hard as I can, knowing the full weight of that responsibility is in my hands.”

Frost has a significant amount of trial experience, having tried numerous complex cases as lead counsel in federal court in Colorado, Illinois, and Virginia. She has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Colorado Court of Appeals, the Illinois Appellate Court, and the Illinois Prisoner Review Board.

“We’re excited to welcome Kristen to the firm,” said Stefan Stein, Taft’s Mountain West chairman and Colorado partner-in-charge. “She brings an extraordinary depth of courtroom experience and deep commitment to her clients that makes her an invaluable addition to our team as we continue to expand our presence in the Mountain West.”

“Joining a firm like Taft with a national platform gives me the space and support I need to grow professionally,” noted Frost. “I’m excited about the broader opportunities ahead and the chance to expand my work while being part of a collaborative, dynamic team.”

Recognized as a leading defense and trial attorney by Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, and Law Week Colorado, and as a Top Lawyer by 5280 Magazine, Frost earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, M.A. from the National University of Ireland, and B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Sherman & Howard combined with Taft, creating a firm powered by more than 1,000 attorneys from Washington, D.C. to the Mountain West. The combination enables both firms to deepen their benches of attorneys and strengthen their service offerings.

Since the merger, Taft’s Denver Litigation group has experienced significant growth. With the addition of Frost, the firm welcomed four accomplished litigators, Aaron Bradford, Stephen Segall, Tara Williams, and Joe Daniels. The firm has also expanded in other practice areas in the Mountain West, bringing on FinTech attorneys Rick Levin and Bobby Wenner, tax attorney Chris Haunschild, and employment and labor attorney Annie Sturges in Denver, CO. In addition, public finance attorneys Dan Opperman and Camila Gutierrez Writtenberry joined in Albuquerque, NM, along with public finance attorney Roxann Lucas in Phoenix, AZ.
