Taft Celebrates Law Firm Well-Being Week 2020
To demonstrate support of the well-being of every member of its team, Taft is participating in the first-ever Lawyer Well-Being Week on May 4 through May 8, 2020. Taft is proud to participate alongside other industry organizations including the National Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being, the American Bar Association Commission on Lawyer Assistance Program’s Well-Being Committee and the American Bar Association Law Practice Division and its Attorney Well-Being Committee.
Hosting its own “Law Firm Well-Being Week,” Taft is encouraging each attorney and staff member to participate in activities and practices that will enhance their personal well-being. All week-long initiatives will be geared towards remote participation so that each Taft team member can engage, with the goal to host in-person activities once Taft offices are fully reopened.
Taft Chief Attorney Development Officer Kendra Brodin will distribute a firm-wide email publication with ideas, resources and activities emphasizing five key areas of wellness and well-being:
- Physical Well-Being.
- Spiritual Well-Being.
- Occupational and Intellectual Well-Being.
- Social Well-Being.
- Emotional Well-Being.
Brodin, both a licensed attorney and a trained social worker, is also a part of the National Taskforce on Lawyer Well-Being “Well-Being Week” planning team. Brodin states, “At Taft, well-being isn’t something we promote once a year, but something we weave into the fabric of our firm. The health and well-being of each and every attorney and staff member matters. We are a community, and we take care of each other. We are proud to participate in Well-Being Week because we want every person at Taft to thrive personally and professionally.”
Taft’s Well-Being Week corresponds with Mental Health Awareness Month. The firm’s goal in celebrating Well-Being Week is to encourage and support positive change to the everyday and ongoing well-being habits and practices of every member of Team Taft.
