Taft Adds Real Estate Partner Rick Pilch in Atlanta
Taft is pleased to announce that Rick Pilch has joined the firm’s Real Estate practice as partner, further strengthening the firm’s commercial real estate capabilities and its Atlanta office.
Pilch joins Taft from Alston & Bird LLP and brings extensive experience advising institutional and corporate clients on the leasing, acquisition, sale and development of commercial properties, with a particular focus on industrial leasing. He has represented clients in complex real estate transactions across the U.S. involving a wide variety of assets, including industrial warehouses and distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, office buildings, medical facilities, and hotels.
“Rick is a highly respected real estate attorney whose broad range of experience will be a tremendous asset to our clients,” said Lauren Prevost, co-managing partner of Taft’s Atlanta office. “His arrival reinforces our commitment to the market and enhances our growing real estate platform across the Southeast.”
Pilch regularly represents institutional landlords and private and public companies in negotiating leases of 200,000 to 1,000,000 square foot industrial distribution and warehouse facilities, supporting portfolio-wide leasing initiatives for national real estate platforms and negotiating a wide range of office leases and subleases.
“I’m excited to join Taft at a time of tremendous growth for the firm,” said Pilch. “Taft’s national reach creates outstanding opportunities to serve clients in industrial and office leasing matters and other real estate transactions across the country.”
Pilch has been recognized as one of “The Best Lawyers in America” for his work in real estate law and has twice been named a BTI Client Service All-Star, an honor based on feedback from corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies identifying attorneys who deliver exceptional client service.
Before entering the legal profession, Pilch served on active duty as an officer and helicopter pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He earned his J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law and his B.A. from Appalachian State University. Pilch is admitted to practice in Georgia and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia’s Real Property Law Section.
