Taft Adds Aviation Dealmaker Todd Dixon in Chicago
Taft, one of the fastest growing law firms in the nation, today announced the arrival of partner Todd Dixon in Chicago, who will co-chair the firm’s Aviation practice. Prior to joining Taft, Dixon was partner and co-chair of the Aviation group at a leading Am Law 100 firm.
A retired military officer and pilot, Dixon brings more than 35 years of aviation experience to Taft. His work encompasses a wide variety of business aviation related issues involving ownership and operational structures, domestic and foreign-based aircraft purchases and sales, and contractual disputes arising from such transactions.
“Todd is a distinguished lawyer and aviator, and we’re excited that he’ll be leading our Business Aviation practice at Taft,” said Cezar “Cid” M. Froelich, Taft Chicago Partner and Chairman. “Aviation is a complex space that cuts across so many of our practices – tax, private wealth, family office, and litigation, among others – where Todd will be a tremendous asset to us on all these related issues.”
“Todd’s combined experience in the U.S. Air Force and private practice brings together a fast-paced and high-stakes background that is the perfect fit for our growing Chicago office,” said Paul T. Jenson, Taft Chicago Partner-In-Charge.
During Dixon’s 20-year active-duty U.S. Air Force career, he amassed more than 2,000 flying hours, primarily in KC-135 and C-12 aircraft operated in multiple combat environments across the globe. He retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel holding a Command Pilot Badge.
Through a series of strategic mergers in recent years, Taft has become one of the fastest growing firms in the Am Law 100 with more than 1,000 attorneys, spanning from the Mountain West region to Washington, D.C. Today, the firm ranks as one of the largest in Chicago with nearly 180 lawyers.
