Sumner Article on SBA Rule Published in Westlaw Today
Taft partner Suzanne Sumner’s article, “SBA Issues Final Rule Allowing Small Business Subcontracting Plans to Take Credit for Lower-Tier Subcontractors,” was republished by Westlaw Today on Dec. 15, 2023.
The article discusses how the Small Business Administration (SBA) issued a final rule in October revising its regulations to implement changes resulting from § 870 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2020.1 The rule permits prime contractors with individual subcontracting plans applicable to a sole contract with a single federal agency, to receive credit for subcontracts to small businesses at lower tiers. Sumner is co-chair of Taft’s Government Contracts Practice Group. She works closely with prime contractors and subcontractors on a variety of issues related to their government contracts.
