Taft Partner Arthur Siegal authored the article “Environmental liability laws will inhibit pollution remediation efforts”, which was published in The Detroit News on Oct. 12. The article discusses changes being considered in Lansing to revise environmental cleanup laws to “make polluters pay” but will increase the cost to developers, and will penalize anyone who buys or occupies property knowing of its contamination, even though they did not cause it.
