The Phoenix Business Journal (PBJ) featured Taft’s, formerly Sherman & Howard, forthcoming move to Esplanade II, a premier office tower in Phoenix’s prestigious Biltmore neighborhood. The article highlights the significant expansion of Taft’s presence in the Phoenix market, marked by the addition of six prominent lateral attorneys from Stinson and the firm’s move to a 24,895-square-foot office, more than doubling the size of its current space.

Taft’s Phoenix Partner-in-Charge Craig Morgan interviewed with the PBJ, shining a light on the firm’s growth in Phoenix. Morgan told the PBJ, “I expect this office [workforce] to grow the rest of the year and through our new lease. I do expect that growth to continue robustly. Right now, we’re building the new [office] to accommodate around 50 to 55 [additions] and we intend to fill it.”

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Taft combined with Sherman & Howard, Denver’s oldest and third-largest firm. The merger expanded Taft’s footprint into the Mountain West, including Phoenix, and added approximately 125 lawyers. The merger has fueled strategic growth across the Mountain West, with 21 attorneys joining since the combination was announced.
