Partner Seslee Smith Adds Insight on Courts Re-opening
Ga. courts have been closed for months now, leaving countless cases in limbo. With the prospect of re-opening, Law360 Ga. Pulse asked partner and litigator Seslee Smith for insight on the impact. Re-opening, she says, is important for clients. “You cannot get the relief that you as a lawyer have been hired to get, whether you’re a plaintiffs lawyer filing claims and wanting to have your claims heard, or you’re a defendant who has been subjected to claims and you can’t defend yourself and either bring resolution to that dispute and/or take your case to trial and vindicate yourself by getting a defense verdict,” Smith said. Re-opening, she adds, is also critical for young lawyers who need trial experience.
