Taft Cleveland associate Allison Smith Newsome has been named to the Lawyers of Color‘s 2022 “Hot List,” which recognizes junior- and mid-level attorneys who exemplify integrity, high achievement, leadership, and a passion for diversity. Honorees are chosen through a two-pronged process and are picked based on noteworthy accomplishments, community involvement, and dedication to diversity initiatives. 

Lawyers of Color is a nonprofit devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities. The organization celebrates attorneys of color and conducts research and studies regarding the intersection of the legal profession and social justice.

Newsome focuses her practice on the representation of hospitals, physician groups, and other health care organizations regarding the regulatory, transactional, and business aspects of health care law. Among other areas, she advises these clients on regulatory matters, including HIPAA, Stark, and Anti-Kickback issues.
