Taft Cleveland associate Allison Smith Newsome authored an article entitled “Dr. Watson, A.I.: The Current Approach to Artificial Intelligence Training in the Medical Field and Legal Considerations for AI Diagnosis Dependence,” published on the American Health Law Association’s (AHLA) website on July 6, 2023.

This article focuses on medical AI and the predictions for its future, how medical schools and teaching hospitals approach AI in curriculum and training, and the optimal balance between physician- and program-managed care, considering the chief goals of patient safety and minimized legal risks.
