Makee Named to the Society of Benchers at CWRU School of Law
Joel A. Makee has been named to the elite Society of Benchers at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. The Society of Benchers was established in 1962 to give recognition to graduates of the law school who have distinguished themselves in their professions and their communities and to pay tribute to exceptional faculty and members of society who have taken a lively interest in furthering legal education. An induction dinner gala will take place on April 18, 2013 at The Union Club in Cleveland.
Makee chairs the firm’s Education Law practice and is a member of the Litigation, College & University Law, Health & Life Sciences and Labor & Employment groups. From January 1973 to August 2003, he served as the chief legal officer for Case Western Reserve University as University Attorney.
Makee graduated from Wittenberg University with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received his law degree in 1969 from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he was a board member of the Case Western Reserve Law Review. He resides in Taft’s Cleveland office.
