Taft Cleveland attorney Bruce Lowe was appointed a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on June 2, 2026, by His Majesty King Charles III.

The Order of the British Empire is the largest Order of Chivalry. It was instituted in 1917 by King George V, who wanted to recognize the service and sacrifice of people, from all areas of life, during the First World War. The Order consists of two divisions, Military and Civil, each having six classes; Knights and Dames Grand Cross, Knights and Dames Commander, Commander, Officer, Member, and holders of The British Empire Medal, Military or Civil. The motto of the Order appears on the badge, “For God and the Empire.”

A native of England, Lowe has been a driving force in strengthening British-American relations and advancing the practice of international law. He is a founder and chairman emeritus of the British-American Chamber of Commerce of Ohio.
