Hodson Appointed to American Board of Certification’s Board of Directors
Taft partner Samuel Hodson has been appointed to the board of directors for the American Board of Certification (ABC). He will serve a three-year term. ABC is a non-profit Virginia corporation, accredited by the American Bar Association, that also uses the trade name “American Board of Certification of Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Attorneys.” It is the nation’s premier legal specialty certification organization, certifying attorneys as specialists in business bankruptcy, consumer bankruptcy and creditors’ rights law.
Hodson’s practice is focused on clients in transition who need assistance in acquisitions, debt restructuring, refinancing, workouts and turnarounds. He has represented both healthy and troubled companies and the individuals who own and are employed by them. These solutions have included sales inside and outside of bankruptcy, refinancing, workouts and Chapter 11 reorganizations, as well as compromises with state and local taxing authorities. His work in the insolvency area also includes representation of debtors, creditors, receivers, unsecured creditors’ committees and trustees in both federal and state courts. He also represents municipalities and the organizations with whom they do business.
