Hickner Joins Taft's Health Care and Life Services Practice

Taft welcomes partner Kate Hickner to the firm’s Health Care and Life Services practice in the Cleveland office.

Hickner focuses on transactional healthcare matters and compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations. Her years of experience advising clients on a wide range of healthcare matters affords her the depth of knowledge necessary to help her clients stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly changing, highly complex industry. Her practice has an increasingly strong focus on digital health, state corporate practice of medicine (CPOM) requirements, cash-based and concierge practices, private equity transactions and cybersecurity breaches.

Prior to joining Taft, Hickner was a partner at a well-known regional law firm in Cleveland.

She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School and her bachelor’s degree, with distinction, from the University of Michigan. She is admitted in Ohio, Michigan, and New York.

Through a series of strategic mergers along with significant organic growth, Taft has more than 1,050 attorneys spanning from the Mountain West region to Washington, D.C. In addition to its merger with Sherman & Howard, effective Jan. 1, 2025, the firm recently announced that it will expand into Florida and the Southeast through a merger with the Mrachek Law Firm, a litigation boutique based in West Palm Beach and Stuart, to become effective June 30, 2025.
