Fennell Authors Indiana State Bar Association Article on Trailblazing Women in Law

Taft pro bono director Monica Fennell recently authored the article, “Women of ‘Sense and Steel,'” published on the Indiana State Bar Association’s (ISBA) website on Jan. 17, 2024. The article highlights legendary women trailblazers in law and the legacies they leave behind. Fennell recognizes pioneering women in all stages of law, from local county judges to U.S. Supreme Court judges, and how they paved the way for women in the legal profession. Through citing other notable works regarding the subject, Fennell pays respect to previous trailblazers and acknowledges those women who continue to advocate for women in the law.

Fennell leads the pro bono program across Taft’s offices, which includes identifying and developing opportunities for the program, establishing an integrated pro bono system across the firm, and ensuring that all Taft pro bono legal services are consistent with Taft’s values and commitment to improving the communities it serves.
