Michigan Lawyers Weekly recently announced that partner Emily Mayer has been named to the Up & Coming Lawyers Class of 2021.

Mayer was recognized for making a positive impact on the local legal community in such a short period of time. The Up & Coming Lawyers program honors Michigan lawyers who exemplify excellence and ambition in their first 10 years of practice. These individuals go above and beyond to develop deep client relationships and provide truly outstanding legal service that sets them apart from their peers.

Mayer began at the firm as a summer associate in 2013 and eventually worked her way to partner, a position she has held since 2021. As a partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Insurance, and Appellate practice groups, Mayer specializes in representing clients in all areas of business litigation, including membership, partnership, shareholder disputes, contract disputes, restrictive covenants and business torts. She works closely with her clients to understand precise resolution needs and specific strategies to achieve desired outcomes.

Mayer has routinely been recognized for Michigan Super Lawyer Magazine’s Rising Star in Business Litigation (2018-2021) and for Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2021). In addition to her legal practice, Mayer is a past president and alumnae board member of the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Currently, she is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Academy of the Sacred Heart, sustaining member of the Oakland County Bar Association and member of the State Bar of Michigan. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from Wayne State University Law School.
