Colom and Knoer to Present at SPACC Webinar on Recent Developments Under the CARES Act
Taft partners Kiamesha Colom and Dennis Knoer will present at a webinar titled “Recent Developments under the CARES Act” hosted by the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce (SPACC) on May 15. This webinar will provide an overview of new guidance under the CARES Act, enforcement risks and strategies on how Paycheck Protection Program loan recipients can maximize loan forgiveness during the 8-week covered period after their loan.
Colom is chair of Taft’s COVID-19 SBA Task Force. She focuses her practice in the areas of real estate transactions, real estate lending and commercial finance transactions and related business transactions. Colom has extensive experience closing SBA, USDA and conventional commercial loans for commercial lenders and borrowers related to real estate, equipment, machinery and C&I lending. Her extensive base of knowledge covers an array of commercial loan types, including government guaranteed lending, asset based line of credits, term loans, real estate transactions and construction loans. Additionally, Colom has assisted banks with recovery of yearly financial documents, past due funds, liquidation and government guaranteed purchasing processes.
Knoer is a member of Taft’s COVID-19 SBA Task Force. He serves as outside general counsel to a number of privately held companies, providing counsel and guidance on matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, risk management, business contracts, general corporate law, and shareholder conflict resolution. Knoer has extensive experience negotiating various transactions on behalf of clients and has handled domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, stock and asset acquisitions, and joint ventures. He is also fund counsel to a number of real estate investment funds, guiding clients through the entire fund life cycle.
