Clayson Presented at The American Bankruptcy Institute Central States, Bankruptcy Workshop
Taft Detroit attorney Kimberly Ross Clayson recently presented at The American Bankruptcy Institute Central States Bankruptcy Workshop in June 2025 on Limited Liability Company Debtor Cases. The panelists provided their insights on relevant current topics and issues, such as the LLC’s authority to file a chapter 11 case, fiduciary duties and duty waivers, derivative standing, LLC restructuring under Chapter 11, Subchapter V of the Bankruptcy Code, and tax implications for LLC stakeholders.
Clayson is an attorney in Taft’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice group. She serves a diverse client portfolio in the areas of insolvency law, creditors’ rights, business law and health law. She provides counsel to operating businesses and financially distressed businesses and individuals. Clayson has extensive experience representing secured and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring business debtors, conducting fraud investigations for bankruptcy estates, and bankruptcy litigation. She was appointed and presently serves as one of five Subchapter V Trustees in the Eastern District of Michigan under the Small business Reorganization Act of 2019.
