Taft Chicago partner Jillian S. Cole and associate Jackson Willenborg contributed chapter nine, “Guardians and Receivers,” to the IICLE publication Chancery and Special Remedies 2025 Edition. In the chapter, the authors provide an in-depth review of guardianship and address key concepts, such as the nature of guardianship and the various types of guardianship, among other topics relevant to the theme.

Cole is an experienced commercial litigator with a multi-faceted practice. One of her areas of focus is banking litigation. She has extensive experience representing local and national commercial lenders in commercial foreclosures and other special asset litigation and is considered a pioneer in the field. Cole also represents secured creditors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy actions. She has extensive experience representing court-appointed receivers in commercial foreclosure, eviction, and building/zoning litigation.
Willenborg focuses his practice on all aspects of commercial litigation. Before joining the firm as an associate, he gained valuable legal experience as a summer associate for Taft.
