Taft partner Patricia Beaty presented “Managing Your 401(k) Plan: A Day in the Life of a Healthy 401(k),” hosted by Lorman® on June 8. The presentation included a discussion of best practices to improve the management of 401(k) plans and third party service providers.

Beaty is a partner in Taft’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation group. She regularly counsels employers and benefit committees on fiduciary matters, best practices for plan governance and oversite as well as the avoidance of litigation and assists employers with resolving issues with service providers. Beaty also conducts annual fiduciary training for boards and benefit/retirement committees. She advises employers on retirement plan design, including new comparability or cross-tested plans, and compliance matters for all employee benefit programs, including Medicare secondary payer issues and ACA compliance and reporting as well as executive compensation arrangements. Beaty has extensive experience in advising church plans and non-profit employers.
