Taft Chicago partner Jonathan Amarilio is the host of the Chicago Bar Association’s new podcast @theBar, which offers a fresh new approach to the podcast interview format through scriptless, raw and refreshingly honest conversations with some of the law’s most influential minds. The discussions are informative, blunt and often unexpected. “Tune in and join the conversation,” Amarilio recently said in an interview with the Legal Talk Network. “This is going to be fun.”

The first three episodes of @theBar feature retired Judge Richard Posner of the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, Illinois State Representative Greg Harris and Brian Cuban, with topics ranging from the role judges should play in reviewing evidence, to state budget crises, to addiction issues faced by lawyers.

Amarilio is a member of Taft’s Litigation practice. He focuses on civil appellate litigation and critical motion practice. He has experience representing individuals, small businesses, state and local governments and a number of Fortune 500 companies before state and federal appellate courts, primarily the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. Amarilio is the chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
