A Multifamily Guide to Vapor Intrusion
Many sites targeted for multifamily real estate investment and development are located in areas with histories of commercial and industrial operations. These can include manufacturing plants, dry cleaners and gas stations. These businesses often used chemicals – volatile organic compounds, or VOCs – that can volatize into vapor, which can enter buildings. Leading trade publication Multi-Housing News published a column Wyatt Kendall and Brian Remler wrote about the hazards of vapor intrusion.
