Jill Friedman Helfman, a partner in Taft’s Cleveland office, recently spoke on the topic "Getting Started:  Initial Interview, Pleadings and Hearing" at an Ohio Family Law Practice Seminar.

Her presentation covered the responsibilities of a legal assistant in a divorce proceeding, focusing on the following key duties: gathering asset and debt statements, conducting discovery, preparing an asset spreadsheet, identifying marital and separate assets, gathering income information, tracing of separate property, preparing pleadings, and preparing for the temporary orders hearing.
