American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Annual Symposium

Carl Murway is speaking in Columbus, Ohio on October 12, 2009, at the Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers annual symposium.  The symposium is attended by more than 350 judges, magistrates and attorneys practicing primarily in the area of family law.  His topic involves division of retirement assets in divorce and dissolution proceedings.  Specifically, he will discuss property division in cases in which one spouse has retirement benefits under a defined benefit plan and the other has benefits under a defined contribution plans.  His remarks will also discuss cases in which one spouse has benefits under a public employee retirement system and the other has benefits under Social Security and one or more private employer sponsored plans.
