His topic involves division of retirement assets in divorce and dissolution proceedings. Specifically, he will discuss property division in cases in which one spouse has retirement benefits under a defined benefit plan and the other has benefits under a defined contribution plans. His remarks will also discuss cases in which one spouse has benefits under a public employee retirement system and the other has benefits under Social Security and one or more private employer sponsored plans.
