Program Description:
This presentation explores the essential connection between civility, professionalism, and legal ethics in modern law practice. Using the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, including Rule 8.4(d) (conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice), and Rule 8.4(g) (harassment and discrimination). The program examines how incivility can result in ethical violations, discipline, reputational damage, and loss of public trust. Attendees will learn to identify unconscious bias, navigate challenging interactions with clients and opposing counsel, avoid misconduct through digital communication, and promote professionalism within their firms. Real disciplinary case studies illustrate practical risk areas and actionable strategies for preventing misconduct and strengthening professionalism across all aspects of legal practice.
