Generative AI: Ethics, Updates, and Case Studies Webinar
Program Description:
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is rapidly transforming the practice of law—streamlining research, drafting, and client communications—but it also introduces new ethical challenges that attorneys cannot afford to overlook. This program will explore how GenAI tools intersect with the professional responsibilities of lawyers, including confidentiality, competence, supervision, billing, and the unauthorized practice of law. Participants will examine the risks of inaccurate outputs (“hallucinations”), client-data exposure, and overreliance on AI systems, while also discussing how to responsibly integrate these technologies into day-to-day practice. We will also explore use cases and discuss the over 200 reported cases where lawyers have been reprimanded and/or sanctioned by courts for unethical use of GenAI. In addition, we will review our own policies and limitations within the firm to help you stay compliance in your practice.
