Ethical Use of GenAI for Lawyers

Join us for an insightful CLE seminar in support of Taft’s GenAI Policy and the ethical and responsible use of GenAI.

This session will explore the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Rules of Professional Conduct and delve into how (if at all) to utilize publicly available GenAI tools like ChatGPT and what firm-approved GenAI tools should be utilized for substantive legal work. This session will also discuss the intersections of the Rules of Professional Conduct and newly issued ABA Formal Opinion 512 regarding attorney use of artificial intelligence. We will examine ethical issues such as confidentiality, competence, fees, communication, and the duty to supervise. In addition, we will teach you the best practices for leveraging AI tools while ensuring compliance with professional standards and firm guidance.
