Digital Assets in Domestic Relations Matters: Technology, Regulation, and the Marital Estate
Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026
1:00 p.m. – 2:00p.m. ET
Presenters: Richard B. Levin and Bobby Wenner
Program Description:
This program provides domestic relations practitioners with a working understanding of digital assets and the legal issues they raise in marital dissolution matters. It begins with an introduction to blockchain technology and related concepts, and then surveys the current federal regulatory landscape.
It then addresses the practical consequences for domestic relations cases: valuing volatile assets, allocating them in a settlement, assessing the post-transfer regulatory exposure borne by a recipient spouse, and identifying, tracing, and securing digital assets that a spouse may attempt to conceal.
