Real Estate Paralegal (Atlanta)

Taft is seeking a paralegal to support our Real Estate practice group in Taft’s Atlanta office.

We are seeking a legal assistant with 5+ years’ experience to support our Real Estate team.  All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy—in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordination and review of title and survey.
  • Due diligence management.
  • Facilitation and preparation of closing binders.
  • Closing preparations.
  • Abstracting contracts.
  • Preparing checklist of critical dates and contract terms.
  • Drafting contract amendments and ancillary documents.
  • Drafting acquisition/sale documents and closing statement.
  • Managing title insurance commitment.
  • Proforma and policy terms.
  • Coordinating all aspects of the transaction closing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Paralegal certificate preferred, or any combination of experience, education and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Minimum of five (5) years commercial real estate experience required, preferably in a law firm environment.
  • Significant experience with commercial real estate acquisitions, development, dispositions, financing, and diligence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office application suite.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Kofax, and DocuSign.
  • Working knowledge of FileSite/iManage preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management with ability to multi-task and shift priorities successfully to meet necessary deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with teammates to accomplish assigned tasks and projects.
  • Strong client service skills and the ability to follow client specific protocols.
  • Professional demeanor with enthusiastic attitude.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
