Payroll Accountant (Indianapolis)

Taft is seeking a Payroll Accountant to support our team in Taft’s Indianapolis office.
We are seeking a Payroll Accountant with 2+ years of payroll experience to support our team in our Indianapolis office. Compile, calculate, and process all non-partner compensation for firm which comprises of approximately 500-600 non-exempt staff employees over several company codes/locations/states. All Taft employees operate under a “Client First” philosophy — in all things, we seek to provide exceptional services to our clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect and enter all paperwork and changes on new hires, terminations, transfers, garnishments, direct deposit, 401K, paid time off, rate increases/decreases, and taxes through the ADP payroll software for all non-exempt staff.
- Process online timecards for non-exempt employees on a bi-weekly basis and review for completeness and accuracy.
- Contact employee and/or time keep supervisors for any missed time or unapproved timecards.
- Process exempt employee compensation on a semi-monthly basis and review for completeness and accuracy.
- Submit completed bi-weekly (non-exempt) payroll files via ADP and request funding for total payroll liability through the accounting department.
- Download and store via DeskSite, all payroll and tax reports.
- Other reporting or requirements as assigned by manager or required for processing payroll.

Requirements:
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or one or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One to three years of experience with payroll software such as ADP, Paycor, Ultipro, etc. Preferably ADP Time and Attendance and Work Force Now.
